Stuff White Trash People Like Because They Think This Is Stuff Black People Like Because They Think This Is Stuff Rich White People Like

Attempting to latch onto the coat tails of the extremely successful “Stuff White People Like” blog, a number of rip-off blogs have materialized such as the Stuff White Trash Like blog and the Stuff Rich Black People Like blog. I’m not providing links to either blog because I’m attempting to spare you from five laughter-free minutes and I do not want to be responsible for generating any traffic to those sites. They are effing awful, extremely unimaginative and they’re borderline plagiarism. These are haphazard attempts to lazily gain recognition in the blogosphere by adopting a preexisting idea, altering it slightly (even copying the layout), and shoddily attempting to emulate the original writer’s style with very little success. The original Stuff White People like is well-written and rather ingenuous, but, I must say that some of the more recent posts have been a bit forced. Posts such as the ones depicting white people’s insatiable desire for overpriced coffee, obsession with petite Asian women (guilty), and attempts to relate to “the Wire” are universally applicable. However, certain posts such as trendy t-shirts (if this were the “Stuff Persians Like” blog then it would’ve been dead on) and musical comedy have completely missed the mark. I’d like to consider myself an expert on white people (I know a considerable amount), and I know approximately no one that those posts describes. I’m concerned (yes, “concerned” about another blogger’s rhetorical demise. I tell you, man, brogging changes you) that the author is falling into an overly formulaic, trite writing style that could be prevented if he limited his posts to only a few a week, as opposed to daily. This would enable him to weed out the bad ideas (like overpriced sandwiches and shorts) from the good ones (having bilingual children and gentrification). I would rather see a few, well thought out posts a week, rather than wade my way through the mire of dribble that’s been finding its way onto the page over the past few weeks. Oh, and how hilariously existential would it be if he wrote Stuff White People Like: The Stuff White People Like blog. That would be badass, and I’d retract everything disparaging I just said if he did.
